Rapido HO Scale Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines EMD GP38 Locomotive PRSL #2005 - DC

Add a distinctive piece of southern New Jersey railroading to your HO scale roster with the Rapido Trains EMD GP38 locomotive PRSL #2005. Decorated for the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines in its DGLE (Dark Green Locomotive Enamel) paint scheme, this model features the railroad's unusual extended dual-control cab, prototype-specific exterior details, and DC/Silent operation with a 21-pin DCC-ready interface.

Introduced in 1966, the EMD GP38 was a 2,000-horsepower, four-axle diesel-electric locomotive powered by EMD's 16-cylinder 645E prime mover. The Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines ordered GP38 locomotives with extended cabs and dual control stands, allowing crews to operate from either side of the cab. This distinctive arrangement made the PRSL units stand out from conventional GP38 locomotives and continued to distinguish them during their later service.

Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines GP38 #2005

Rapido's PRSL GP38 #2005 captures the distinctive appearance of the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines' extended-cab diesel fleet. Finished in the railroad's dark green locomotive enamel scheme, this model represents a locomotive well suited for freight assignments throughout southern New Jersey during the late 1960s and 1970s.

The extended dual-control cab, railroad-specific detailing and carefully reproduced exterior components make this GP38 an excellent addition to a PRSL roster or an HO scale layout depicting northeastern freight operations. This DC/Silent version operates on conventional DC layouts and includes a 21-pin decoder interface for modelers who wish to convert it to DCC.
