Union Pacific FEF-3 #8444 – 1987–1989 Greyhound Appearance

Union Pacific's FEF-3 locomotives were the final group of 4-8-4 Northern-type steam engines constructed for the railroad. Built by ALCO in 1944, these powerful locomotives were designed for high-speed passenger service and became some of the most recognizable steam engines in American railroad history.

Locomotive #844, temporarily renumbered #8444, became especially famous for its continued operation in Union Pacific's steam excursion program. This Broadway Limited model recreates its 1987–1989 Greyhound appearance, capturing a memorable period in the locomotive's preservation history.
