With version I being initially built in 1979, the Superliner has been an essential part of Amtrak's long distance fleet for over 40 years! Coming this winter, Kato is re-releasing a selection of these sleek and robust coaches in Amtrak's current Phase VI livery. Superliner I variants in this run will be the coach, lounge, and sleeper cars with Superliner II having the Transition Sleeper that connects perfectly to our currently available Viewliner II Baggage Cars. Modelers can complete their Superliner consist by coupling these models to our also available Superliner I Coach/Baggage and Diner cars as well as our very powerful GE P42 engines!
All Kato Superliners come with preinstalled detailing and thin railings as well as smooth rolling trucks with working bearing caps, shock absorber construction, and are weighted for a hefty feel and performance.
