Rapido 222547 HO Scale VIA Rail (Early) FP7 Locomotive #1418
DCC AND SOUND EQUIPPEDThis particular FP7 VIA 1418 has a unique paint scheme that it bore throughout its career with VIA Rail.In the 1970s, Canadian Pacific transferred ownership of several locomotives to VIA Rail Canada. The official changeover occurred in 1979, but CP began repainting the locomotives in VIA colours in 1978. FP7 1418 was probably the first CP F-unit painted in VIA colours; why do we say that? Because they didn't get it right! The blue of the carbody was extended onto the roof and around the windshields.Features:Designed from original EMD/GMD blueprints and field measurementsFirst ever 100% accurate GMD-built FP7 locomotives - This is not a stand-inRoad-number and era-specific details applied at the factoryPhase I grilles or Phase II Farr grilles as appropriateSteam generator or no steam generator panel as appropriateCorrect fuel tank, end door, and other unit-specific detailsUnmatched underbody details including air pipingFull cab interiorOperational headlight and operational ditch lights (if appropriate)Operational numberboards, class lights and backup light (DCC)Drive system designed for silky-smooth slow-speed operationMetal Macdonald-Cartier Knuckle CouplersDC/DCC/Sound versions featuring an ESU Loksound decoder with accurate recordings
